Salt Flush

A salt flush is something I do normally while on the Natural Naughties detox or on a juice fast. I find that these flushes really help to cleanse my organs and assist to clean out the body gently. It is crazy how much waste bodies can hold on to, due to the toxins in the environment, food, and the more stressful lifestyles we lead.

Benefits of a salt flush

There are many benefits of a salt flush. Here are some that I have noticed:
  • More energy
  • Flat tummy
  • Clear skin
  • Improved digestion
  • Feeling "clean"

What you need:
1 litre water, warm
2 teaspoons pink salt
lemon to assist to improve taste is optional

When to do it
First thing in the morning on an empty tummy.

How to do it
  1. Mix the water with the salt.
  2. Drink it all at once.
  3. It will not taste the best and can be hard to swallow.
Tips
  • It is a good idea to lie down after drinking and stay close to a toilet. ;)
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
  • Use probiotics or eat yogurt as the salt flush flushes out all bacteria. You will need to put the good back in.
  • Avoid junk food after for at least 7 days. The Detox plan would be great as it is loaded with healthy whole foods.

My experience:

  • I went to the toilet a few times after half an hour.
  • I did not feel any severe discomfort. I always feel really clean and have a flat tummy afterwards, so for me it is always worth it to feel this way.
  • I find this as effective as the colonic, as i have done them in Adelaide and I manage to save time and money, also avoiding the shame of someone watching me flush ;)
  • I also kept on feeling light, energetic and happy this week. Had a few compliments on my glowing skin.
