"Kayla, I really miss eating pasta".


A common statement many of my clients make when they are new to clean eating.

Life is too short and no need to take away the things you love. You can still enjoy good food and feel great too.

The reason that so many clients tend to feel better and drop weight when the remove most bread and pasta is due to several reasons. A few reasons being the processed carbs taken away, the portion size it too large and the extra calories from the toppings ect

I am half italian. As a child i spend most of my days learning to make italian food with my grandmother, aka Nonna.  We would make pizza, cakes, pasta and loads of other italian goodies.

In Italy they still make wood oven pizza today. They use fresh ingredients and the pizza smells divine. If I am going to eat pizza or pasta as a treat it has to be made buy an italian.

So if you really do love pasta here are some Natural Naughties tips

*
keep the portion size small. Instead of having a plate full of pasta, have a small portion as a starter, or serve it with loads of veggies and a healthy sauce

*Quality, try make your own.

*Use a different flour spelt flour, buckwheat flour are good options if you are intolerant to wheat/gluten.

*
Instead make a zucchini pasta (the recipe is in the Natural Naughties e-book and inspired by my grandmother"

*
Use brown rice pasta, when i removed pasta from my diet, i loved this.

*Slim Pasta, made from a veggie. Sold at most health shops/supermarkets

*Slim pasta is low in calories, gluten free, easy to make and a great way to increase fibre in your diet.

Clients who ate my pasta in my raw food class loved the pasta . "WOW, this is freaky, I feel like I am eating real pasta'

Often what we miss is the texture, sauce and flavour. So ditch the carbs and enjoy the taste.

Slim Pasta Recipe

Ingredients

1 packer slim pasta (i like the organic one)
1 cup fresh tomatos diced
1 teaspoon garlic
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1/4 onion, chop well
1/4 cup basil
Pinch sea salt.

Directions

To make sauce

Fry garlic and onion for 2 minutes in a pan on low heat.

Add the tomatos, slightly smash with a folk. (you could use tinned tomatos as they are soft)

Cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Add chopped basil and cook for 2 minutes.

"pasta"

Soak the slim pasta in boiling water for 5 minutes.

Drain the pasta.

Add the pasta to the sauce. You can allow it to cook another 2 minutes.

*Serve with Natural Naughties Raw vegan cheese or if your feeling Italian some fresh italian cheese is devine.

Moderation is key and if it makes you happy or in my case brings back memories enjoy some formaggio e vino.
