This is a quick and healthy alternative to traditional bread. It makes a great snack as it high in protein, filling, nutrient dense and easy to transport. This cake taste very similar to a Lebanese cake I used to make called "sfoof". The advantage being that it contains no white sugar, dairy or white flour.

A "new" ingredient to The Natural Naughties Kitchen was the "gluten free" flour. I picked to use it due to an increase of parents and "fans" ask for gluten free recipes. The cake is also "nut" free due to an increase in nut allergies.

Carrot "bread"
2 carrots
        16 egg whites
1 tablespoon turmeric
8 tablespoons gluten free flour

  1. Process in a high speed blender.
  2. Pour into a lined tin.
  3. Bake in low/medium heat until cake is done. The cake will be ready when "firm" and a knife comes out clean. It takes approx. 20 minutes but ensure you check it every few minutes to ensure it does not burn.
  4. Slice into 8 pieces.

Fat: 0.32 g
Protein: 8.05 g

  • Before pouring the mixture ensure it is thick like custard. If too thin add a little more gluten free flour.
