I am sure there is a whole lot of information on health that is driving people nuts these days. All these restrictive diets, starvation diets, keto diets, shake diets, etc. This is not an article on a "diet" though. It is actually an article helping you learn your own body so you can lead a happy lifestyle.

I wish I knew about "intolerance" at an early age. It would have saved me a lot of migraines and gut issues!
I believe awareness is great when it comes to food intolerance. Ditching a diet high in dairy, gluten and sugar can do wonders for health for many people. Gluten and dairy intolerance are actually common. It is also common to hear of gluten free products, as more people are aware of their own personal food intolerance.

Signs of gluten intolerance include:

  • Digestive issues such as bloating, gas, diarrhea, or even constipation.
  • Fatigue - Feeling tired all the time, especially after eating meals with gluten.
  • Hormone imbalances, such as PCOS, infertility or PMS.
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Mood issues - common ones include anxiety, mood swings and depression.
  • Inflammation in the body, such as swelling in the joints.
  • Feeling off-balance and dizzy
Do I have a gluten intolerance?

A simple and cost effective way would be to do an elimination diet. Take out gluten products from your diet for around 2-3 weeks and then reintroduce it.

Keep a "food" diary and track how you feel each day during the elimination as well as after.

For accurate results, you must ensure you ditch the gluten 100 percent during the trial.

So many people report that they feel so much better without it, they do not even reintroduce it anymore.

Besides the options of gluten free foods, there are endless Natural Naughties creations that have been created without gluten. These include:
  • Raw pasta
  • raw cakes
  • raw bars
  • raw stir fry meals
  • raw sushi
  • and more
These are all gluten free faves in the Lifestyle e-book.

In some recipes, quantities can be played around with and substituted for the following options:

  • Almond Flour - Natural Naughties uses almond meal in many recipes due to the fabulous nutty taste and wonderful benefits of almonds.
  • Gluten Free Pancake Mix - This pancake mix is an excellent substitute for many pancake recipes as it has a similar texture to traditional pancake mix, meaning you do not need to play too much with working out the correct ratios.
  • Other great substitutes: hazelnut nut flour, gluten free cup cake mix, gluten free oat flour.

Here is a recipe for some yummy gluten free pancake

1/2 banana
2 whole eggs
1/3 cup almond flour or gluten free pancake mix, www.bobsredmill.com
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon stevia

Process in a high speed blender
Should be thick, like a custard texture. If too thin, add in more almond meal.
Be careful when making these "pancakes" as they break easily. Practice makes perfect.
